The US, UK, etc. are doing this anyways; why not the French? Let the spying race begin.

You don't need verification by the government to get a .EDU domain. You just need accredition by an agency that is recognized by the USG.

AirBnB's customer service is undergoing growing pains. We rented a place via AirBnB that seemed to have good reviews. Upon checking in, as soon as the lights were turned off, cockroaches came out and were crawling over us! So at 3AM I

Having taken MUNI (SF's light rail) underground in SF, I have some doubt about the efficiency of such a system. In my station (Church), in the morning, I can see trains coming in every 3-4 minutes or so; and about 40 people get on at o

When Bush was in charge, everyone was quick to blame him. But now that Obama is in charge, suddenly it is "president has never been the one pulling strings .. why is everyone blaming him?"

So what? It doesn't cost you anything; but they get a couple of pennies for their effort. I can understand the thought behind ad blocking (it fucks up the experience), but a tangential referral code? Who cares?

My point is: why? Why does the TSA (a Federal agency) offer differing services based on your value to the airlines? In my humble mind, these two are orthogonal. Of course, if you have one of those Trusted Traveler statuses, it is different,

Not to threadjack, but: people are mentioning "priority access at security" as a perk of higher FF status. Which begs the question: what does FF status have to do with security? You could get a higher status by just renting a c

So, I happened to take an Uber last night again. The driver was a guy who moves between cities: SF, LA (and one more, I think it was Sacramento). He was quite happy with the flexibility, that he could work Uber when he was between gigs. &qu

I admittedly don't take Uber too often. I have taken it maybe 10 times in my life. After the first time the "employee -vs- contractor" controversy broke out, I made it a point to ask the drivers: do you like Uber? What do you

Came here to say this. It is a waste of SFFD resources, but since when did "waste" become a concern in SF? I remember one of the folks at Stamen design wanted to plot where SFFDs responders were going, and for what purpose. But h
