Apple is really hurting themselves with the developer community. I don't know if it will matter (as pclark points out, they have millions of users willing to part with cash) but it is really painful for me as a fan and a developer. Glad I'm

Cool. This is an experiment for us, but we are going to tie the winner(s) into our existing events like MinneBar and MinneDemo to increase their exposure. And in fact, we're already getting some press about the event...it was written up nex

I'd never heard of Awesome Foundation, sounds cool though. Obviously $1K is not a lot of money to build a company, but the goal is to get people over the mental hurdles that are stopping them and hopefully get them to a place where they're

I think non-technical founders have a harder time building a profit-based company (like 37signals or Plenty of Fish, his examples) because how do you get a programmer on board to build the thing if you can't pay them? Imagine the job ad: "W

There is an excellent book by psychologist Martha Stout called "The Sociopath Next Door" which examines this subject. The author claims as many as 1 in 25 Americans is a sociopath. http://www.amazon.com/Sociopath-Next-Door-Martha-Stout/dp/

I was involved with integrating with Braintree in a startup I worked for. 1. They do have good developer support (why we went with them) 2. They charge more than others, but we were able to negotiate it down a bit.
