I had a similar issue with FF. IT looks like the canvas kept losing focus and FF was interpreting the letter keys as search terms sometimes. I believe when it looses focus with the keydown caused the sticking issue. No issues in Chrome.

This topic was pretty lively last time I commented about my interviewing practices. Coding is a creative effort -- yes. It's not objective. But I see no other way to test if the person is competent than sitting them down with a problem

Strange, the companies I've talked with send the homework out before even looking at my portfolio.

Similarly, my private company promoted some person horizontally, then they decided to merged two dpts together. My excellent performing one, and a larger poor performing one. We always exceeded our sales targets, they hadn't met theirs

DOB on your resume isn't illegal, it's just illegal for the company to discriminate based on it.

Well there's a few issues. The SS7 ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signalling_System_No._7 ) does not have any authentication so anything over the telephone networks can be easily MITM'd. And at provider's

AFAICT, they don't have a custom kernel, it just runs an application on startup.

It could and likely would be configurable. The problem is the people who plug the router in with the default password and forget about it. This would solve that while leaving it configurable for technical users.

I agree with Steven Gibson. The biggest defense we can have on this is autoupdating routers. At a minimum, just restart at some fixed time after an update is downloaded. More fancy would be dynamically calculating a low usage day and time t

Why hasn't charging for toilets caught on in the US? I suppose some places require a receipt for use, but still. Or perhaps, why do many places in the EU charge? I've noticed that pay toilets in the EU are still disgusting.

The Chrome dev tools are more well-known than that. But I would let them use Firefox, or whatever they want. Even connect VS code or some other IDE to the browser if they wish (as someone else mentioned). It's really more open ended th

Yeah, a 25 line debugging question and a 25 line react .setState() question are far from hazing. See my other comment for a good example of hazing: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=17495049 In any case, unfortunately it
