There is no call in the article for a deeper C++ code analysis by the compiler. Deeper analysis will be the future of C++ - the article fails to foresee this.

There is nothing in Rust that would ease solving hard problems. Graphs are unsupported. No transactional memory. No distributed computing. No migration. No support for trying. No memoization. No proofs.

You can distribute dark matter in space to shape it in any pattern you like and give the dark matter any kind of property just to create a mathematical model that is consistent with observations. Dark matter is just a theoretical concept -

"a processor that only executed mov instructions, which would be extremely simple" I believe such a CPU wouldn't end up simple due to competition for better performance. It would end up being more complex than x86 CPUs.

It is very hard to estimate the relative speed of a mov-only CPU (with a jump at the end of the program). The mov-only restriction applies only to how a program is input into the machine, it does not restrict the CPU architecture in any way

"I've wondered whether a language more focussed on concurrency could make a multi-threaded emulator possible, but it looks like GoSpeccy isn't a particularly useful example of it." I think you are wrong. OK, it is true that the "emulation c

The "8x1 mode" and border effects do work in GoSpeccy. You can try the Overscan demo ( http://www.worldofspectrum.org/infoseekid.cgi?id=0007636 ). GoSpeccy does not support any 384 line mode. As far as I know, the horizontal resolution is
