I wonder if Apple will bite. Previous APUs had decent perf, but ran too hot for a laptop. This is 14nm stuff and if Ryzen desktop flavors are representative, thermals and power should be roughly on par with Intel midrange.

HRC was so confident in her upcoming landslide win she bought fireworks, and congratulated herself on her birthday as “future president”. Same time last year Trump was projected to have a 7% chance of winning, and that was by outlets that w

Not even “soiled”. If you’ve just washed your hands Touch ID will likely not work. Touchscreen works just fine. Pretty annoying.

An average high schooler is able to understand the math involved in DL, but not even the leading researchers can explain why certain things work better than others, let alone predict what will work better.

No, I mean documented, actual evidence either presented as-is, or at least reviewed first hand by a neutral, trusted third party. Not some kooky WaPo bullshit.

This is not what I’d call hard evidence. This is testimony, by people whose careers depend on saying there was interference. Fact of the matter is, around this time last year the same outlets you link here (except cspan) we’re projecting th

Sure. Empires rarely survive past the 250 year mark. It’s remarkably consistent. The US will be 250 years old in 2026, though it hasn’t been an empire for the entire duration. Make of it what you will. Interesting essay on the topic: http:

Present some then. Thus far the best that I’ve seen is $100k in FB ads to peddle the divisive topics typically peddled by the democratic establishment.

Speaking from experience: there’s almost no measurable perf benefit from disabling ondemand governor on Pi3 or other low end boards. I use Pi3 as a cortex a53 benchmark baseline, and I no longer bother controlling the clock. This does not h

“Zero dependency” after you install a 80MB JRE. You keep using this word. I don’t think it means what you think it does. Statically linked C is zero dependency. Go is zero dependency. Copy a binary to the target system and it runs. There’s

The amount of micronutrients in honey is inconsequential, it is measured in single digit milligrams per hundred grams. It consists primarily of sugars and water, and the main component is fructose.

You are underestimating the significance of this. The economic security of the US rests to a significant extent on the fact that there's far more fundamental innovation going on here than anywhere else in the world. Whoever pays for it

Monopolies that are allowed to exist (e.g. last mile telecom, utilities) are usually very tightly regulated. Probably to the extent that Google would prefer to be broken up instead.

No fractional scaling => no deal, better luck next time. I can't use this on my X1 _or_ on my 4K desktop display: everything is too large at 2x and too small at 1x. Unity supported this near perfectly.

I’m not saying it’s not true. I’m just genuinely wondering if I simply don’t get invited to the kinds of gatherings where such things could possibly transpire, and why that is. I don’t think I’m quite _that_ boring or unattractive.
