The article is mis-addressed. If the goal is to change something and not just pointlessly grandstand, it should be addressed to the lawmakers who wrote the laws that make this legal. Nobody should be required to pay more taxes than the laws

Tried Firefox recently. Works fine on Linux and macOS, but hangs my Windows 10 cold after a while, requiring a hard reset. Apparently I’m not the only one, and the fix is to disable hardware acceleration. Leaving aside the fact that Windows

Not gonna argue with that. I do use MCUs myself where appropriate. I like that they’re more hardware than software: flash the thing once and it will work every time from there on out. Very few moving parts, everything is very simple, power

What's really amazing is that for less than $5 nowadays you can have a 1GHz+ quad core ARM Cortex-a53 with FPU and NEON support. I mean, sure, your entire device will be more than $5, and it'll be kinda power hungry at 3W or so ru

Jeff is a manager nowadays. His coding days are in the past. Although, like Chuck Norris, he certainly has proven he can kick ass.

Now compare that to the current model of nickel and diming for every single thing and charging a 90% margin on traffic, and you’ll see why this is not attractive to the current players.

While it is _technically_ possible to build heavily decentralized, managed hardware deployments, no one has figured out yet how to charge for them except in the case of very large customers. Until this happens, there will be no swing back t

And to think that none of this would even come up had the “right” candidate won.

Obviously it’s not possible to hire just “the best”, but I can confirm one thing: the quality of their engineering talent is very high, and a lot of the best people in their respective fields work there.

Regardless, he was trying to buy influence here in the US, and his candidate didn’t win. And he managed to piss off the guy who did win. Too bad. http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2015/12/figures-saudi-prince...

What I’m saying is that at no point in my rather lengthy stint at Google were my feelings even a passing consideration to anybody in my chain of command. A couple of peers cared, but even there the environment is much more impersonal than i

You won’t be fired per se. You just won’t perform well against your peers an will feel like shit because of that. After some time you’ll leave on your own accord to a team where demands aren’t quite as high. There are plenty of those around

Google is a very “sink or swim” place, and these well intentioned studies aren’t going to change that. I suspect they get funded in part for their positive PR aspect. Anecdotally, two of the three teams I worked in at Google were among the

To be fair, oftentimes startups themselves can’t answer this simple question _to themselves_. “What is it that we do” is a loaded question, and once you answer it you’re at least temporarily committed to that cause. A lot of founders have s

The question wasn’t actually addressed to you, but to the author of the article linked to the post. They’re also pushing the “Russian interference” narrative, but as far as I can tell your product can’t point out the source.

Why only mention pro-Trump bots though? There were (and _still are_) tons of pro-HRC bots as well, synchronously posting identical text and passing it off as their own tweets. They aren’t even trying to hide it much.

That’s not a lifting regimen. You don’t need crunches if you’re doing heavy squats or deadlifts. You don’t need bicep curls at all. And chest press must be balanced with barbell rows. As to how many reps, I only do 10 or more reps during wa

Canada basically has the immigration regime Trump is proposing: strictly skill based, no illegals allowed. I know, because before immigrating to the US I’ve looked into it, and the US was markedly easier for a skilled immigrant (and I suspe
