I'm not actually sure it's "more documented". It has more documentation, that's true, but that's not the same thing as better documentation, and after some point the mountain of documentation becomes a daunting

But _why_ use TF when you have PyTorch which is just as powerful, runs noticeably faster for most workloads, _and_ is easy to understand? What are you gaining by using TF these days?

You can't avoid FB either. It tracks you even if you're not logged in, and even if you don't have an account. And by tracking you across sites it can infer your age group, gender, sexual orientation, political leanings, incom

And you seem to have this weird notion that whether or not a team has a high profile does not impact its chances of getting a grant. In the absence of a feedback loop this largely turns into a popularity contest, and dire predictions are he

It's common sense, no? Who do you think will get more grants, the "we're definitely all gonna die of heat, drought, and hurricanes" group, or "there is 40% probability that the temperature might rise by 1C in a hund

There were literally hundreds of outlandish predictions and most people only remember a few, and the one from the 70s has no names tied to it. For all we know those same people might still be getting grants and making insane predictions, so

And Earth once was frozen all over, and there were times when concentration of greenhouse gases was much higher than it is today, with no "runaway" effects.

It would be good if there was some website that would aggregate and preserve these predictions along with the names of people who have made them, and then compared them against what actually happened years or decades down the road. Right no

I don't see anything hilarious about this guy getting fired for a well sourced memo due to pressure from virtue signaling zealots who didn't even read it. To those tempted to respond: do please make sure _you_ have read the origin

They also have also inadvertently confirmed that their Linux testing efforts are lacking. Which just blows my mind TBH, because they're also in the server market, dominated completely by Linux.

The main contribution of a technical leader is calling bullshit on things that are bullshit. Left to their own devices, large teams of people will produce a lot of things, but someone qualified needs to decide which of those things actually

I sure hope so, but given the epic fail of Ryzen, I'm going to wait for others to beta test it for me, and/or for some sort of explanation and fix from AMD.

In case someone from AMD is reading this: guys, you need to fix stability issues on Linux, or your Epyc is DOA. People are having some serious lock-up trouble with Ryzen, even with the latest AGESA updates and kernels. This is the only issu

I mean real SIMD, the kind you need these days: AVX, AVX2, FMA. And to add insult to an injury, MS was running the chip in 32 bit mode, which further restricts the usable instruction set.

It was a shitty chip anyway. No SIMD of any kind. Good riddance, I hope Microsoft picks something more respectable next time.

QT is really expensive for commercial use though. And it's not as easy as Builder was. Builder basically gave you Delphi capability but in C++. You could focus 100% on the problem you're solving rather than on the UI -- true compo
