I have really enjoyed using Elaho on iOS to explore gemini sites. I think there is some value to it and would love to see it grow. That said I wasn't aware of the TOFU aspect. I think thats a mistake. At the very least it should suppor

I'm not a huge fan of Java, but a lot of the improvements being worked on here are promising. I'm 90% certain I would only really start working on a project if we could use Kotlin just because the ergonomics are vastly superior. I

I'm not aware of the APIs in question and it sounds like this probably to prevent fingerprinting of a device... but why not simply return only the default device when enumerated? It inherently makes sense that all those apps would try

I've felt for a long time that we need a better Shell, but I think the next evolution is combining the Terminal and Shell together. I've never thought that what was good about the command line was that a terminal and shell are dif

You can build C projects using Rust and Cargo as well[0], but it requires more work than Zig appears to need. Rust also has good C FFI story and honestly I think we will still see a lot of important code rewritten in Rust. That said, a more

I planned to comment on the conclusion as well. I think these protocols often do not handle things well enough and in the end the apps out there do not implement them properly anyways. You always end up building some kind of CRUD/RPC t

Yea this can be very annoying when a package is not already in nixpkgs or it's out of date. There was a similar issue if you didn't use Python virtualenvs properly, which was an early source of frustration for me personally.
