There is a great article floating around on the economics of AI and how parasitic the current market is between the Fab Five. We are 27-ish months since the claim that all software engineers would be replaced within six months by some of th

Agree, but I think we should hold those Apps to a higher bar. Chat interfaces are not a replacement for good UX.

I don't think that the goal of MCP is for software developers. MCP is great for: "I would like Claude Desktop/VSCode/Cursor to know about my JIRA tickets". AFAIK Most of the tools that are being used for AI Coding t

I believe that MCP is a bit over-marketed. MCP allows you to bring tools to agents you don't control. It's awesome, but it isn't the right match for every problem. If you believe the hype of X/LinkedIn you would think th

Great tools should be: 1. More efficient 2. Better Quality 3. Allow you to be lazier AI hits 3, but not the other two. Given the current human condition, this is a dangerous combination! It will win, but at the cost of the other two.

For one-offs, sure! Go for it. For production/things you will have to manage long-term I would recommend learning some of the space given the output of AI and your capability to surpass that pretty quickly.

Yeah, these 100x numbers being thrown out are pretty wild. It dawned on me during the Shopify CEO post awhile back. 100x is unfathomable! You did a years worth of work in 3 days? That is what 100x means.

The issue is that anything put into an LLM thread can alter the behavior of the LLM thread in significant ways (prompt injection) leading to RCE or data exfiltration if certain scenarios are met.

Agree, the problem is that investors and companies see developer salaries and want to cut that out. It's all bottom-line at the end of the day.

Theres a 3 point way to say this. Usually technology: * More efficient * Higher Quality * Less effort Most successful technologies provide multiple of these benefits. What is terrible, and the direction we are going right now, is that these

I have also stepped back from LLM coding a bit. I still utilize LLMs for API discussions, maybe 1-off things I would stackoverflow before but I have stepped back a bit from autocomplete everywhere and even agentic flows. And I feel more pro

This is something that I think Copilot is working on fixing actively. I think that they were focused on Agent mode previously, so put less effort into the autocomplete functionality but they are hearing more and more that this is somewhere

I'm not sure that Andrej envisioned this when he tweeted out his Vibe Coding take what seems like forever ago now. I applaud anybody who jumps into Cursor (or other AI Assisted Coding Tools) to build a new product. I think that a way t

Agree with most of your points, the one correction (that I think is important) is that they were the fastest from 1M ARR - 100M ARR. Not a straight fastest to 100M.

At the end of the day the number of instances that are publicly available is just clickbait in an article. What really matters is whether or not this is being actively exploited in the wild. I have my own issues with Clickbait and dramatiza
