I would expect that a protocol such as TCP performs much better than QUIC in benchmarks. Now do a realistic benchmark over roaming LTE connection and come back with the results. Without seeing actual benchmark code, it's hard to tell i

You can run, it will just run on CPU and will be pretty slow. Macs, like everyone in this thread said, use unified memory, so it's 64GB between CPU and GPU, while for you its just 64 for CPU.

UNtil 2009 to 2016 AMD was free to use any fab as long as GloFo still has something to do. In 2016, AMD had to pay GloFo to NOT use them for some node sizes. AMD used TSMC for their CPUs (not IO die!) at least for one generation, and TSMC a

In your mind, company that as a contract with a fab is not fabless? Do you think AMD can just stop ordering from TSMC today and call it a day? AMD was fine with having GloFo as a fab until 20nm process. They were already behind, but not ter

These are two entirely different a's you're storing reference to it in the same variable. You can do the same in rust (we agree it statically and strongly typed, right?): let a = 1; let a = '1'; Strongly typing means I c

It's strongly typed, but it's also duck typed. Also, in ruby everything is an object, even the class itself, so type checking there is weird. Sure it stops you from running into "'1' + 2" issues, but won't

This is why constructors are dumb IMO and rust way is the right way. Nothing stops you from returning Result<CorrectObject,ConstructorError> in CorrectObject::new(..) function because it's just a regular function struct field vis

Yes, but that contract was a result of going fabless and spinning off GloFo into its own entity longer before Zen. AMD went fabless in 2009 during K8 lifecycle. Since then, we had an entire dynasty of failed bulldozer CPUs. I fail to see ho
