Yes this. While I sympathize with folks calling for weaker patents as an alternative solution, I think that's a non-starter given the power of entrenched interests. If this were easily fixed, it would be fixed by now. Best approach mig

For me it's the semi-trucks, modified passenger cars/trucks and motorcycles. Normal cars sound more like white noise. I used to live 2 miles from the freeway and could pick out the problem vehicles when there was an inversion la

Recently started looking at daycares in San Diego. All the good ones near me are within a couple hundred feet of a major freeway. I can't believe people send their kids to something like that. Intuitively, I don't mind the ones

Right. Not quite what I'm saying. Take away the user moderation and you still have bias but you lose the feedback loop. You level the playing field between folks who live in their basements and folks with more balanced lives.

It's getting harder to find good online discussions devoid of bias and emotions. With user moderation, control goes to those with the most time to waste online, meaning the least happy, productive and social.

I'd love an EV truck but not the weird little thing highlighted in this post. I watched an overview video someone linked but turned it off as soon as I saw the guy trying to fit inside the tiny cab. Also, why is this goofy little truc

People addicted to online forums love to comment and upvote posts which trash talk trucks. People who own and enjoy trucks are busy leading fun and productive lives and can't be bothered to waste their time with online arguments.

Same issue happening in the US right now too. Datacenters are gobbling up electricity and pushing prices ever higher. Tariffs will make it even worse, with prices the utilities have to pay for infrastructure shooting higher. I've hear

This. My old neighbor had a broken hot tub that would breed thousands of mosquitoes. Buying the fancy, $200, german made trap was satisfying because of how many it caught but it didn't keep you from being bit.

Yeah but are there other, sensor based approaches that would also work? Ripe berries are softer, so sonic/ultrasonic waves would propagate differently. Is there a wavelength of light which behaves differently? Can shaking the branch

Yeah. Dr. Ford Brewer( https://www.youtube.com/@PrevMedHealth ) talks a lot about this. I find him to be pretty current and he translates things into an easily understood format. Basically the calcium stabilizes the plaque.
