Actually saying the name of the model in use? Like Opus 4.8, Sonnet 5, Fable 5, Haiku? So many models and it’s just so pointless if you don’t know which is which

Marketing stunt by who dude? Do you really think Anthropic would really go this far? This whole situation is completely absurd. The federal government is arbitrarily restricting AI models without really providing any reasoning. This is not

Wow unsure why you are getting downvoted. It’s just odd. I just don’t get the skepticism towards this model. It’s released and it’s amazing. The hype was real and I can see why the researchers were anxious about releasing it.

Ah that I will admit. It gets shit done one way or another haha. This is why a sandboxed environment and a reproducible test DB is key here. I give read only access to my dev DB to my Claude, really removes the temptation that it increasing

Are you kidding man? Have you tried the new model for coding? It's absolutely incredible. After using it, I really see why they were so concerned. The jump in my workflows feels as large as the jump from 3.5 to 4o (OpenAI). It's j

Haha thought you were referring to the upsell at the start asking to subscribe to the newsletter for $70 / year. But yes it does call out the unprecedented amount of money getting dumped into AI. What turned me off though was this para

Trick is to not burn too much time worrying about the perfect skills and this and that. See a lot of people filling skills with LLM junk, or overdoing rules that start confusing the LLM. Just try Vanilla, see something you don't like?

Yep, it’s still a bit off from being a true developer. But good news for existing software devs who will need to be hired to fix LLM balls of mud that will inevitably fall apart. In my mind it’s not too much different than cheap contractor

Then you are boned unless it was architected well. LLMs tend to stack a lot of complexity at local scopes, especially if the neighboring pages are also built poorly. E.g pumping out a ton of logic to convert one data structure to another. L

This is what I’ve discovered as well. I’ve been working on refactoring a massive hunk of really poor quality contractor code, and Codex originally made poor and very local fixes/changes. After rearchitecting the foundations (dumping bo

To temper expectations a bit, I’ve installed Linux recently on my HP Omen to pretty decent results. Still having some lingering issues, e.g the WiFi adapter going dead after a sleep. But have found the experience relatively similar to my re

Yeah just took down the prod site for one of our clients since we host the front-end out of their CDN. Just got wrapped up panic hosting it somewhere else for the past hour, very quickly reminds you about the pain of cookies...

Wow the bad faith is quite strong here. As it turns out, small to mid sized insurance companies have some ridiculously poorly architected front ends. Not everyone is the biggest cat in town with infinite money and expertise. I have no inten

I agree (not OP). The difference in addictiveness between the three big boys (Facebook/Instagram, YouTube, TikTok) grows smaller with every passing year as their back-catalog of content grows. Pretty much everyone I know consumes TikTo

Go look at the PR man, it's pretty clear that he hasn't just dumped out LLM garbage and has put serious effort and understanding into the problem he's trying to solve. It seems a little mean to tell him to stop coding forever

Pretty neat. The automatic breakdowns are cool, but you absolutely need to move the delete button inline. Confirm dialog if there are items beneath it, otherwise just delete. Generated like 10 sub-items for me, 5 of which were relevant. But

Privacy is a big one, but avoiding censorship and reducing costs are the other ones I’ve seen. Not so sure about the reducing costs argument anymore though, you'd have to use LLMs a ton to make buying brand new GPUs worth it (models ar

You can do some solid debugging with NodeJS if you use the VSCode dev tools. Just add it as a debugging option and you can add breakpoints and step through functions. Works pretty great, JavaScript is pretty nice to debug since everything i
