- divideby0 11y agoThe freak fest thing is true: http://gawker.com/man-unwittingly-rents-out-apartment-on-airbnb-for-xxx-1544961941 http://gawker.com/man-unwittingly-rents-out-apartment-on-air... Whether or not this is the same person or an imposter? Who knows. But it wouldn't be surprising. If true, it's entirely possible that Airbnb is more concerned about setting a precedent for any and all auxiliary damages that go along with a bad stay. What happens when someone gets kicked out of their apartment because a guest accidentally tipped off management that they were an Airbnb renter?
- toomuchtodo 11y agoYou should be kicked out of your apartment if you put your apartment on AirBnB in violation of your lease. "Breech of contract" and all that jazz.
- pfisch 11y agoI remember reading a past article about this when it happened with a lot of evidence. Pretty sure it is real.
- mschuster91 11y agoIt is legit and it was on HN when it happened. I'm on mobile though so I can't really search for the first submission.
- geomark 11y agoGotta get home and jump on the grandpa box before you can do anything real, eh? http://dilbert.com/strip/2011-08-03 http://dilbert.com/strip/2011-08-03

- maudineormsby 11y agoDid you look at the link? It's not NYC landlords; it's a list that's scraped from court proceedings and sold to tenant screening companies.
- toomuchtodo 11y agoHow is AirBnB responsible for how property management companies use public court record data? Sigh.

I'm sort of hesitant to use Gawker as an authoritative news source, but I'm willing to trust them that they do not entirely manufacture quotes from PR reps.
