- seanmcdirmid 11y agoElm the mail reader is quite old and obsolete. It makes sense to garbage collect our namespaces every once in a while so names can be used anew. I have some nostalgia for PINE, being a UW alum. Perhaps I will call my next reactive programming language Pine (well...maybe not).
- msutherl 11y agoPining for PINE?
- agumonkey 11y agoThe idea of generational namespacing is pretty inspiring.
- adiM 11y agoI, for one, still use pine (well, alpine) for all my email.
- xorcist 11y agoNostalgia? I use it daily. I believe it's what Torvalds use, too. Not everyone has migrated to Mutt (or Gnus) yet.
- ghshephard 11y agoNot useless, it was the first thing that I thought of as well. It took about 2-3 months of Go postings before I realized that HN was singularly uninterested in 2500+ year old incredibly complex Chinese board games.
- k__ 11y agoWell, HN seems to be interested in chess, so this assumption wasn't THAT absurd :D
