Ha, perfect timing. Yesterday the guy next to me threw up in his hands on takeoff. He hadn't looked for a bag; I expect he thought he could ride it out. I handed him mine.
I can't imagine the bags are a significant cost to airlines -- everyone's heard of the 'American Airline olive,' but those were actually being consumed every flight. Compare that to the PR from customers smelling vomit for hours because there was no bag.
- digital-rubber 12y agoI can't imagine that either. What i can imagine is that time spend on cleaning a single barf spot probably exceeds the costs of paper bags. Then again, who says everybody managed to put everything neatly in the bags and no cleaning afterwards is required. Need some proper stats to calculate this i guess.
- pbhjpbhj 12y agoI hadn't heard of the "AA olive" - https://www.quora.com/Is-it-true-that-American-Airlines-saved-40-000-in-1987-by-eliminating-one-olive-from-each-salad-served-in-first-class https://www.quora.com/Is-it-true-that-American-Airlines-save... gives the gist.
