651 votes 7hs ago, not in front page on a Sunday. HN moderation or paid voting rings flagging stories are hurting the site's credibility.

The moderation was explained quite transparently: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8711660 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=8711660

I personally flagged it because I don't find the story "intellectually stimulating". I don't know much about Uber except the few times there was an article about them on HN and I doubt they will send a pay check my way.

Stories about HN moderation are explicitly off topic. I would have flagged it if I'd seen it. From the Posting Guidelines: Please don't post on HN to ask or tell us something (e.g. to ask us questions about Y Combinator, or to ask or complain about moderation). If you want to say something to us, please send it to hn@ycombinator.com.
