Edit: For a "web developer" the starting number is $52,000. In San Francisco.

- jimbokun 12y agoInteresting. How are the "Levels" determined?
- bduerst 12y agoYes it does. Level 1 is mean salary for entry level, and it's for the peninsula, not just SFC.

- eitally 12y agoYep. The HN community is not at all representative of the market -- people here tend to be both more experienced and working in better positions than most -- and I can confirm that for non-tech companies the prevailing wage for entry level tech jobs (do-it-all programmer, web dev, etc) in the SJ/Milpitas/Fremont area is in the 70s, going up to ~100 after 10+ years experience.
- LordHumungous 12y agoAlso keep in mind that does not include benefits or equity.
