  You're right about the drug harshness: that's a bit disappointing. Where do you see that personal liberties are a problem? (http://freedomhouse.org/country/sweden http://freedomhouse.org/country/sweden makes it sound fine) As for taxes: they have great education, health, and other social benefits. For some people, that's worthwhile.

  Perhaps consider the value of all the services a family with young children would receive from the govt when comparing tax rates.
