AFAIK RPI has pretty flat power usage at ~500-1000mA. BeagleBone Black seems to be lower power (~200mA?) but it's hard to verify this claim.
(I need a box that will mostly stay idle but online, for things like ssh servers)
- Pfiffer 12y agoI'd be interested in this too. Have you looked at maybe using the WR703n[0]? It runs OpenWRT. I think that hovers around 500mA as well, though. [0] - http://www.everbuying.com/product65368.html http://www.everbuying.com/product65368.html
- dublinben 12y agoI can confirm that the BBB uses no more than 500mA while running intensive tasks. I have mine connected to a power supply that only provides that much, and it hasn't had any issues.
- maguirre 12y agoI was excited about the BBB specially because of the NAND Flash availability. In similar fashion as the RPi back in the day lead time is (as far as I can tell) in months
- adventureloop 12y agoWhats your application? We have a pi up a mountain on a solar panel and it is doing ok.
- mongrol 12y agoBeaglebone Black all the way. Low powered, more grunt than a Rpi and can run with no binary blobs whatsoever.
