  Thank you for clarifying this, it was a source of confusion for me as well. Not to sound elitist, but what is $5k to a software engineer making 120k/year regardless of the cost of living in Seattle. This makes more sense.

      It's no where near as much money as it is to the people who are actually getting the offer. It's like 2 weeks pay for an engineer and 2 months pay for a warehouse worker.

    Amazon pays $95k for new grads. SDE3 is around $120k.
