I was saddled with supporting IE8 for a while because our biggest customer (of one of our products) was using it. They made up ~4% of traffic before they finally moved to Win7+IE11. Money talks.

You're lucky. One of our largest corporate customers upgraded to Win 7 and then DOWNGRADED to IE 8.

  I wonder how many of them will still be on IE8 by the time Win7 ends support in 2020.
