I've been happy with my Lenovos. We had a bunch of T420s at my last employer, and they were solid. Likewise, my personal X220 has held up fantastically. Some of the new laptops follow annoying market trends (bastardized keyboards, lack of IPS screens, hard to repair, lack of connectivity options), but every other brand is doing that too.
