[1] The price on exchanges where you can actually withdraw USD, e.g. bitstamp
- drcode 13y agoI agree mtgox prices are borked, but historically mtgox prices were used as the "official" price, and I think this is going to continue well into the future. Since these price milestones are arbitrary anyway, does it really matter?
- makira 13y agoThat, and MtGox is often a leading indicator for the other exchanges.
- blhack 13y agoI'd say most people are quoting coinbase as the "official" price at this point.
- waterlesscloud 13y agoYou'd definitely be wrong about that.
- Datsundere 13y agoWhy is bitstamp the real price? They don't even support adding funds from US banks without wire transfer. You can compare bitsmap with EUs market since that's what they seem to support better

- TomGullen 13y agoMtGox has the longest price history, I think this is probably why it's often quoted.
