It's rude to post their questions online.
How is this lost on people??
- eitally 13y agoOn the other hand, these are all pretty superficial and elementary questions. I have never been a Linux admin and I still knew about 2/3 of them, or at least could have fumbled through them (e.g. 3 timestamps).
- ciupicri 13y agoThey're supposed to be FizzBuzz questions.
- selmnoo 13y agoJust curious, what are some questions asked beyond the point where we've asked FizzBuzz questions?
- ciupicri 13y agoDebug a possible situation or even something that happened in the past. Take for example these question from ServerFault: "DNAT:ed packets disappearing"* [1] and "Openvpn, forwarding slow since reboot" [2]. *Sorry for the self promotion, but I don't have any better examples right now. - eshvk 13y agoehh..What is the worst that can happen? People study these questions and by the act of studying these questions, they acquire more information on how things work? If the interviewer is good and is not asking for factoids, it is very easy to figure out how much a person knows about something.
- spydum 13y agoAgreed, though to be fair, this is beginners level interview questions.. Nobody is going to lose sleep over these.
- shmageggy 13y agoWhile I don't really have a problem with being "rude" to a corporation, especially some evil behemoth like Facebook, it's worth noting that sharing these questions probably violates an NDA that was signed/agreed to before the interview.
- e12e 13y agoI hope they don't waste everyone's time with having an NDA signed before the first round of interviews? What would it accomplish?
- pjscott 13y agoIts main effect would be to filter out people who aren't desperate.

- stormbrew 13y agoThese are phone interview questions. No NDA.

- zorked 13y agoThe questions are very simple. Anyone who depends on a blog post to know the answers will fail a slightly different set of questions, not to mention the next interview.

- MereInterest 13y agoIn the same way that it is rude to talk about salaries, because that gives an advantage in bargaining to the employer?
- jfb 13y agoIt's rude? By what logic?
- hnriot 13y agoby being proprietary.
- hnriot 13y agoit may also be illegal, most interviews are covered by an NDA.
- jes 13y agoWith respect, I have never had to sign an NDA to interview with a company.
