I don't think the author knows what a datacenter is
- RaduTyrsina 13y agoI know, and so does Steve Ballmer, I assume

- prawks 13y agoFrom your article: We have something over a million servers in our datacenter infrastructure They do not have a million data centers, they have a combined million servers in their datacenters.
- RaduTyrsina 13y agoI understand the difference now, thank you!
- robododo 13y agoIt seems like you're still a bit confused. These might help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datacenter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datacenter http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_(computing) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_(computing)
- joezydeco 13y ago"We know that the Redmond company has recently announced that they are planning a $677 datacenter expansion in west Des Moines Iowa" Maybe they have a million datacenters because they're super-cheap? I can't even paint my house for $677.
- RaduTyrsina 13y agoHas been updated, as well as the "server" issue thanks!
- onethumb 13y agoI still see "Microsoft now has more than one million datacenters" in the article. Haven't read the whole thing, either.
- astrodust 13y agoThis is the stuff a prime-time television writer would crank out. "Microsoft has one million internets, only second to Google."
