- pbhjpbhj 13y agoThey probably realise that few people will read the user agreement. That they may as well claim the heavens and the deep-blue sea despite only wanting to have the entirety of the the landmass, that way no one can successfully sue them later saying they "exploited" them. Medium can just respond "that's what you signed up to".
