      To be fair, a great percentage of the comments on these topics sound exactly that ignorant. Maybe there's an echo chamber effect where reasonable people just stop reading/participating in these threads, because to my eye it's been getting worse. I can understand why someone would be driven to mock them.

      It got an upvote from me because there has been an awful lot of windy political rhetoric around here lately, accompanied by a fair degree of personal invective.
