I hate the terms 'kid' and 'kids'.
What is wrong with 'child' and 'children'?

- nollidge 14y agoThere isn't one. "Kid" can mean the young of either humans or goats. "Child" is a bit more formal, but that's about it.

- Nursie 14y agoI prefer 'puppy'. Perhaps for overweight kids we could start using 'calf' ?
