This is imho the most important bit an imperative programmer needs to learn and understand functional.
- seanmcdirmid 14y agoBut it's not necessary to use these operations with functions at all; they were mostly invented and refined in the array programming space like APL. Just in a functional language you have all those nice lambdas to help out and can keep your language simple.
