Gravity Linux – Linux for Apple Silicon M4 and Above
- xlmnxp 16d agoAs I understood from the post and authors they are other community project like Asahi but they are fast in development and utilize LLMs efficiently the project focus on upstream first
- benoau 16d agoAmbitious but realistically, it looks like a single-developer project and that just doesn't seem viable considering the challenges are the same faced by Asahi. The logo is begging for trouble too, if you were an actual fruit shop and had that logo since 1975 they'd go after you for trademark infringement. Using it as a logo for an alternative OS specifically for Mac probably constitutes actual trademark infringement.
- bitpush 16d agoGood observations. Even if this doesnt become _the_ project, hopefully this takes few steps forward which then inspires something else .. and the dream goes on.
- grigio 15d agoGood to have more Linux-compatible hardware, but currently x86-64 is a safer bet for compatibility. Asahi, Snapdragon ARM,.. are all half baked Linux projects
- trollbridge 12d agoThe idea that Linux is "half baked" non non-amd64 platforms is just... it's just stunning. That is all.
