You think the US doesn’t have similar things?
- r_lee 11d agothe commenter never implied that they don't but anyone familiar with how China positions itself knows that they always say things like: "our space stuff is 100% peaceful we dont have any military stuff there, the imperialist West is lying! we are never aggressive, we are only peaceful and defensive" and when someone else does something they always urge them to act according to international law and to not escalate

- SubmarineClub 11d agoVery convenient of you to not include what China is doing in Nepal, Hong Kong, Xinjiang and on the Indian border. And if China hadn’t stuck its dick into the Korean War, the whole peninsula would probably be as prosperous as the south.
- etc-hosts 11d agoNorth Korea was more prosperous than South Korea, until the US bombed flat over 85 percent of the buildings in North Korea. 20 percent of the population of North Korea died. I'm going to bookmark your comment and read it instead of drinking coffee every day this month, thanks.
- 0dayz 10d agoThis comment makes little sense since north Korea didn't exist before the Korean war, and it's was only AFTER the war that the north enjoy some prosperity due mainly to the south not having as much investment as the north.
- grafmax 10d agoLet's pretend US sanctions have had nothing to do with N Korean prosperity.

- Revanche1367 9d agoIt started as a comparison, it’s a question of hypocrisy. Very convenient to be able to invent labels like “whataboutism” to stop a comparison when your side starts it but then someone else asks “what about your own history?”
- kurthr 11d agoWhat a weird question, does that include Chiang Kai-shek? or limited to the "communist" party? You don't remember the '79 Vietnam War? The Chinese one where they invaded North Vietnam with thousands tanks and 10s of thousands on both sides died over the course of months.
