I got an X3 a couple of weeks ago, they are dirt cheap and the form factor is amazing. It's so easy to leave it in the pocket and just pull it out when you have an idle moment somewhere out in public. I wasn't certain how comfortable reading would be on such a small screen but it works well. With crosspoint, you can sync your page position with koreader on a larger form factor device.

I'm not convinced on the price. It's about 75 euro delivered for me. It's about half the price of a kobo Clara bw, which has much better specs, higher ppi, waterproof etc. I am tempted though.

  Sure the specs are better on other devices, but it comes down to what you'll actually use. Being so tiny I can just toss it in my pocket, and read a few pages with no effort. It's like having a fancy notebook: you end up being very intentional when you write in it, but you'll happily jot something on a scrap of paper without second thought.

    Yeah, my old kobo clara hd fits in my pocket, but it's not perfect, feels like it would get damaged. I had been looking at the clara bw when I thought my hd was broken but managed to repair it. Do you have the X4 or X3? I imagine with the small size it's barely a few sentences per page? Feels like it would be difficult to read comfortably. Maybe it's like reading one of those tiny bibles.

      My preferred Kindle 4 classic also fits in my pockets, used ones are at around 25 EUR and pretty hackable. I could barely imagine reading a book in 3.7", that's half of a smartphone.

        When I googled the dimensions of that it sounded a bit too big for a pocket.

      I have a x4 (the old one with usb-c charging) and reading feels pretty comfortable to me, even with poor eyesight. I also tried using it to read a comic book at one point, but that was unreadable due to small letters/low resolution.

        I don't read comic books or graphic novels but it would not shock me if those are unusable on these little devices.

      I got a cheap x4 from aliexpress and it's been great. Thought it'd be weird to read a book on it but it really hasn't been. Sticks to my phone and slips into a pocket really easily.

There is something I find strange about buying a display and as a feature to put that on the back of another display (Phone) for the purposes of reading. I'd rather have a separate device with a larger screen and take advantage of that.
