The race/flight sim market is still going strong, but I guess it's the exception that proves the rule. It's extremely difficult to make a non-vehicle-based game that actually plays well in VR.
- LarsDu88 18d agoIncidentally I made a vehicle based game in VR (https://roguestargun.com https://roguestargun.com), but currently I have no idea how to upload the APK to Steam to run on-device for the steam frame.
- moffkalast 18d agoSteamOS doesn't use APK files afaik, it's just desktop linux. Probably an AppImage executable? Ought to be explained in Steamworks somewhere.
- Craftyawesome 17d agoThe Frame can, presumably to allow easier porting of Quest games. It uses lepton, which is a fork of waydroid. Potentially related, IIUC Unity only has linux arm64 support for the embedded linux version. And to use that you have to contact sales.
- Craftyawesome 17d agoIt is in their documentation. https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/steamhardware/steamframe/apk_upload https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/steamhardware/steamframe/...
