- georgemcbay 14y agoNope, no word missing there. "Would that there were" is a slightly archaic phrasing, but perfectly acceptable English.
- 1123581321 14y agoIt's a valid sentence that means the same as, "I would like the world to have in it more people like McAfee." Would is the verb and the clause following "that" is its object, and the (validly) missing "I" is the subject.
