Ads are really a cancer of modern society. Can we please just ban them to yellow pages only? (Where we can watch them on __our__ terms, not __their__ terms)

Far more a vice. Cancer victims don't like cancer, and try to be rid of it. Vs. modern ads are far more like cheap-at-first drugs. Similar to dirt cheap printers with ever-more-expensive consumables, E-Z financing plans that nobody reads the fine print for, and politicians who conveniently forget all their wonderful-sounding promises the moment they're elected.
