I guess X never heard of the Streisand effect...
- noduerme 1mo agoElon has bought immunity to that. Streisand's flaw was that she gave a shit. Elon has unlocked the kinda reverse-Streisand that Trump has, where their popularity actually feeds on the effect.
- 0xDEAFBEAD 1mo agoThe internet peanut gallery will whine about literally everything under the sun. At a certain point I can see why some people would want to harness that energy for their advantage. If you can't beat 'em, join 'em and all that.
- encom 1mo agoElon Derangement Syndrome is real, like the Trump equivalent.
- slig 1mo agoIt's worse. Elon was very well praised by the same people, Trump was never liked.
- noduerme 1mo agoTo be fair, it's possible that he changed, rather than that everyone who now hates him did.
- 0xDEAFBEAD 29d agoMany people regard Elon as a hero or villain. I regard him as a tragedy: A great entrepreneur who wrecked his sanity due to drugs, genetics, and/or overwork.
- cmrdporcupine 29d agoIf you read his ex-wife's account of their history together, and also the drama of what happened at PayPal etc... he was always kinda .. off.. and full of shit. Then again, I often think that about myself. But I'm not a trillionaire. It does sound like losing his first child at 10 weeks really messed him up. It definitely would do that to anybody.
- throw-the-towel 29d agoWhat if insanity is required to be a great entrepreneur?
- Vaslo 29d agoI guess if that’s how you have to make yourself feel better about the worlds first trillionaire and his success after success, have at it.
- phoghed 29d agoI don’t even understand what this comment is trying to imply
- mitxela 29d agoIt's saying Elon is better than you because he's richer, and as we all know, capitalism is a meritocracy.
- phoghed 28d agoHe seems like a pretty miserable guy though. Tons of pressure, no real friends, utterly and very visibly failed doge, almost universally despised completely of his own doing.
- maxlin 29d agoIt's not him who's wrecked. It's just some poor souls who cant't stand how right he is while he expresses that with autistic crudeness. Musk is the same guy he was 10 years ago, still working his ass off on visionary projects, beating rest of the world on those fronts. And we love him for that!
- alex1138 29d agoIt's funny because I think the original Streisand 'effect' was done in good faith. She just didn't want people taking photos of her private home. It's since been used to justify all manner of silencing actions on the part of others
- mitxela 29d agoGood faith but still not well thought out. Nobody even knew it was her home until she complained about it.
