reading it I notice that the argument against daycare was referencing an American and the arguments for daycare were referencing Europeans. Can it be that the cultures have two different approaches to daycare? Either that or, as https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49496012 https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=49496012 says it's a bunch of crap. I tend not to flag but the article seems close enough to anti-vaxx but where daycare is concerned that I am sorely tempted.
Also they cookie banner is the most annoying bit of passive-aggressive UI I've seen in a long time, and now I feel stupid and dirty because I decided oh well I'll be nice this time and just Accept All. UGH. Curse me for my clemency.
- greatgib 2mo agoNo, I think that it is more due to the fact that American have become quite dumber in the last decade and strange things like that pushed some lobbies or political agenda are now going on easily despite common sense.
- andai 2mo agoI went to an American daycare in Europe and it was awesome. I can't compare it with the local ones though.
- Aeolun 2mo agoEverytime I see kids in daycare they seem overjoyed to be constantly surrounded by others to play with. I’m not sure if I buy that it could ever be negative. When they get to later ages they start having an opinion, but until around 6’ish? I’m perfectly happy to believe it is not right for some, but I’m pretty much convinced it is good for the majority.
