- applicative 1mo agoThe writer appears to be under the impression that the advances in coding and mathematical proof are due to 'chain of thought'. (Coding proficiency is presumably the basis of what he takes to be The Next Big Step after chain of thought, agentic operation.) The account of the last 5 years seems really deeply wrong to me but dunno.
- artisan-ml 1mo agohey, writer here! You're right. The way I wrote that 5th milestone gives away the impression that coding advances is purely due to CoT. I added explicit mentions to Codex and DeepMind advances of that time, with some of them predating CoT. It's really difficult to say this story as linearly as possible, cause a lot of things were happening at the same time haha. Thanks for flagging.
