My assumption is x.ai will be training on any code hosted here
- nomilk 1mo agoSame for all other AI companies too.
- sajithdilshan 1mo agoWhat do you think github copilot is trained on?
- tensor 1mo agoNot on my private repos? That would be.... very illegal.
- simondotau 1mo agoWhen has that ever stopped any of the big AI corps?
- tensor 1mo agoOutside of Musk companies? All the time? Google workspace doesn't train on your email. Gmail does. Any b2b targeted services absolutely protects customer IP. It's one of the most basic requirements.
- simondotau 1mo agoAll of the major companies have been caught training on illegally acquired data. The law doesn't matter to any of them. It makes sense that Google would care about their own paying customers, but that's for commercial reasons, not for any particular concern for the law.
- andsoitis 1mo ago> All of the major companies have been caught training on illegally acquired data. What is your best example?
- simondotau 1mo agoAnthropic committing, by their own admission, $1.5bn in copyright infringement.
- grosswait 1mo agoHow is it illegal if it is in the ToS? (I didn't check)
- tensor 1mo agoIf it were in the ToS I imagine there would be huge outcry and all the enterprise customers would leave immediately and sue.
- vips7L 1mo agoI think Source Hut has 0 ai features. Or time to start self hosting.
