The technical solution is interesting but I think the only way to truly go about it is web of trust. Everyone knows that my work doesn't use AI because I hate it so much and so many people know that I don't use AI. It's embedded into the core of my personality. These tools can always be gamed but a true belief against AI cannot.
- epolanski 3mo agoAnd what's preventing you to LLM slop your next post? We believe you on internet karma?
- vouaobrasil 3mo agoA lot of people do, that's the point. And over time there will be zero evidence that I ever used an LLM because I haven't. Many people in real life also believe it and they can also vouch for me.
- epolanski 3mo agoYou're missing the point. If all we're left with is "trust me bro", then we're left with nothing.
- vouaobrasil 3mo agoDisagree with that one. "trust me" is not a good policy if your intent is to minimize deception. That's why "trust me" is not a good policy for banks because even a 1% loss of people's money is a bad thing. But it's a good policy for filtering out people because you only need to find a few good ones to have a community. The very strong anti-AI people and the very strong pro-AI people should be easy to find, and what's in the middle can be ignored.
