What is with all these people that are so interested in other people's workflow to the point of writing weirdly aggressive manifestos like this. "If you don't do it like me, you're wrong!" I would like to be the first person to state that I don't give a damn about your workflow. Do whatever you want!
- cmrdporcupine 3mo agoSure, do whatever you want on your own projects. But on a team, I expect people to follow some basic decorum on standards for commit messages and code reviews. That was hard to enforce and get before (GitHub encourages bad practices) but it's bloody impossible now.
- Otek 3mo agoYou’re mistaking how with what. We’re talking about „how” here
- bloody-crow 3mo agoI actually think it's much easier now when most contributions are LLM-assisted or LLM-authored. Like, at my job we went from wild-west everyone uses their own commit message style to very nice uniformed one now when everyone's using Claude Code following the style enforced by AGENTS.md/CLAUDE.md
- duskdozer 3mo agoEasier to have them follow a format, sure, but definitely not easier to have them provide useful information.
- totallyhuman 3mo agoI imagine most people don't give a damn about others' workflows. But they're not posting about it, because they don't give a damn.
- nepurcel 3mo agoscreaming for attention really.
- Backslasher 3mo agoI think these are discussions about workplace / team policy that get extended into a post. I recognize these from different dev teams where it was agreed that a "how much AI" policy is needed, but the actual policy was very hard to settle on.
