Your Site, your rules: new AI traffic options for all customers
- gonzalohm 4mo agoIt's funny that Cloudfare presents themselves as the protector of the web when they are the gateway to it. We are one bad CEO away from having a system of "pay a subscription to browse the Internet"
- harshalizee 4mo agoYou mean like ISPs?
- hurfdurf 4mo agoYou can switch ISPs. Can you switch away from Cloudflare when you are blocked from accessing a website because reasons?
- xingped 4mo agoMost people don't have a choice for what ISP they use. And even when they do it's usually "do what to live in the modern world or deliver your packets via the Pony Express?".
- gonzalohm 4mo agoYou are right, but that's mostly a US problem. When I lived in Europe I was able to pick from a list of at least 10 providers. I'm not sure how it works, but I think there is a law saying that the ISP that laid the optic fiber cable must rent it to other ISPs
- gonzalohm 4mo agoAt least with ISPs you are paying for the infrastructure and the connection to your house. Cloudfare has been like a silent Trojan that was added as a layer everywhere
- jesterson 4mo ago> It's funny that Cloudfare presents themselves as the protector of the web when they are the gateway to it Well, how else they can sell their crappy service?
