I don't think $4B is reasonable for an acquihire. They must see value in the technology.

    Exactly. If they can buy this talent to make their GPUs more valuable, then this deal makes sense. I'm actually a little happier about this deal than expected as it means the language may actually become open source.

    I have a friend who works at Modular. FWIU, the employees got shafted by the acquisition financially.
