Cirrus: ATProto Personal Data Server That Runs on Cloudflare Workers
- skybrian 4mo ago> The result is a PDS that runs at the edge with no servers to manage, automatic scaling, and pay-per-use pricing. Since you have no control over traffic, that seems a bit worrisome compared to a flat rate for a VM?
- victorbjorklund 4mo agoYou don’t have any control over traffic on most websites either.
- 1dom 4mo agoThis repo suggests running a PDS is a good thing because independence from platform changes, network resilience, data sovereignty and portability. Doing that on cloudflare feels like a bit of a practical and ideological contradiction in places. Regardless, still interesting/useful repo to learn a bit more about how PDS' work.
