It is the same question of: "why hasn't there been a real competitor to Facebook Events and why many people post events information only there?"

- throwaway27448 4mo agoFwiw I have never heard of facebook events
- madduci 4mo agoIn Italy and Germany it is massively used. You can only find events there and nowhere else. Since I don't own a FB account, I don't have access to the events information as well.
- HaloZero 4mo agoI’m not that old but Partiful and other sites have completely consumed Facebook events for me for personal stuff
- julienreszka 4mo agoA major reason Facebook dominates is consolidated discovery, but open alternatives are definitely needed. We have been building Events Map to let users discover events from around the web using natural language search and interactive map pins that display a countdown of how many days are left. https://reloadium.com/reloadium-events-map/ https://reloadium.com/reloadium-events-map/ Video demo: https://youtube.com/shorts/aZn0mQXpKt4?is=xNDB9ksjzXG2IdW8 https://youtube.com/shorts/aZn0mQXpKt4?is=xNDB9ksjzXG2IdW8
