Meta is the worst of the worst. I don't use it other than a tombstone account with some family connections and a separate burner account we use for Facebook marketplace.
- greentea23 5mo agoThis is how everyone talks about their use of Meta products: "I don't use them except for those times I use them...". We all need to actually boycott and actively help create alternatives or these little bits of fabricated need will keep them in business forever.
- mmastrac 5mo agoI doubt my semi-monthly marketplace usage is contributing more than it costs. If everyone used just the bare minimum free feature set, the company would not be viable.
- Ey7NFZ3P0nzAe 5mo agoI don't think facebook is viable counting only usage. It's only viable because having a Facebook account means you have Meta apps, so you can be tracked and your behavior and opinions sold. Regardless of how often you open the app.

- hu3 5mo agoDo you boycott Apple and Google too? Because they have to comply with debatable laws just as Meta. See drama about Apple maps for Taiwan/China for example.

- hedayet 5mo agoI've been clean for about 2 years at this point, and I have not missed anything! Messaging apps like Signal are more than enough now a days to stay connected with the few people I need and want to stay in touch with.
