They've been banned for generations. It's called gambling.
Of course, we all have to sit through another round of Silicon Valley pretending they've discovered some new exciting business model that's just vice.
Unlicensed gypsy cabs, SROs, shift work, patent medicines, narcotics dealing, customs fraud, and smuggling already had established market entrants I guess.

- anon291 5mo agoGambling works and is normal in most of the world. No idea why the USA is puritanical about this. It's like the oldest business on the planet.
- kenferry 5mo agoEr, I agree it's incredibly old, but also has been treated as societal ill and subject to regulation for its entire history.
- Gagarin1917 5mo agoWanting to control the non-violent actions of others is also a social ill. Just one most haven’t woken up to yet.

- kenferry 5mo agoI mean, I don't think we should legalize Fentanyl.
- ziml77 5mo agoThere's degrees of harmfulness. Weed is on the mild side along with alcohol (possibly even less harmful than alcohol).
- anon291 5mo agoYou can regulate the supply of a substance. Gambling is a human behavior. It's a normal human behavior. I don't understand the pearl clutching around gambling honestly.
- CPLX 5mo agoThey should be extremely tightly regulated, which is all anyone is asking for here as well.
