- winrid 5mo agoHow does it not? We have a ton of social programs.
- brazukadev 5mo agoit is the richest country in the world, mate. Every citizen should get a comfortable life, not just a $1,000 check. But most of the money must go to the military and Wall Street.
- winrid 5mo agoYou know the military is composed of citizens right? Our largest spending category is Social Security at 22%, Medicare at 14%, and then there's Veterans Benefits at 6%. So most of the money spent is for the people. Defense is 13%.
- mapontosevenths 5mo agoSocial security shouldn't count as spending at all, unless you are an actual accountant, and Veterans benefits ARE Defense spending to normal people. Which means that we spend 19% on so called 'defense', and it is our largest category of spending, far outstripping the next highest category of spending.
