The California Government Is Coming for Your E-Bikes
- nvgrw 6mo agoGood! Ride a regular bike and earn your speed. Electric mopeds should be regulated as such, especially given how irresponsibly they are ridden.

- nradov 6mo agoAre they coming for e-bikes or electric motorcycles?
- alt_4577 6mo agoIf only there was a source of information we could read to find out the details.
- zardo 6mo agoLicence plate and registration requirements for e-bikes. Seems to be more of, something must be done about kids riding OHVs on the road, but since that's already illegal let's try a law interfering with middle aged commuters on e-bikes.
- gamblor956 6mo agoThe number of kids riding illegal (or illegally modified) Class 2 and 3 e-bikes is a multiple of the number of middle-aged commuters using e-bikes.
- zardo 6mo agoThere's no such thing as an illegal class 2 or class 3 e-bike. At least in my area the kids riding wheelies down the street are on bikes sold as dirt bikes. Legally exactly the same as riding a 2-stroke motocross bike on the street.
- xyx0826 6mo agoNotably this bill covers Class 2 and 3 ebikes, not Class 1. The key distinction here is Class 2/3 features a throttle that lets you accelerate without having to pedal. IMO Class 2/3 bikes are more of a bike/moped hybrid than just bikes.
