Ask HN: Chrome, Brave, Firefox or Something Else?
My favourite is Brave.
- dotcoma 5mo agoI use Helium.
- immanuwell 5mo agoLadybird coming soon)
- DropDead 5mo agoI waiting for it release
- 4l3x4f1sh3r 5mo agoyes, finally. So good to see another independent browser engine around. I am watching their monthly progress videos on YT and it is quite amazing how well the project has evolved IMO
- hosteur 5mo agoI prefer Firefox as it is still the only feasible non-chromium alternative. I have been a firefox user for more than two decades - since it was called Pheonix and later Firebird.
- nness 5mo agoFirefox — Everyone loves to play armchair CEO and dictate the ills of the company. But I think they do so because Firefox is largely the only independent rendering engine and with Google's foothold on browsers (to protect their ad revenue) I'm nervous about the future of Blink. Independent players are always good for competition.

- kgwxd 5mo agoAnything that can run uBO proper. So, Firefox.
- late_night_fix 5mo agoI think the best browser is whichever one stays out of way.For me lately that's Brave too.

- andyjohnson0 5mo agoFirefox has solid and capable cross-platform sync

- LopovJack 5mo agoBrave and it is not even close. Only browser where I do not need to adjust privacy settings out of the box. On Firefox I need to go hunt for flags... Just turn off crypto stuff and off you go. Brave Origin will fix that.
- ifh-hn 5mo agoFirefox, not even a consideration. With ublock origin, there's nothing that beats it. For a second browser Vivaldi. Is never consider any browser linked to an advertising company like Google, Microsoft, or brave.
- uyzstvqs 5mo agoBrave, Vivaldi or Helium. If you want another browser engine, then wait for Ladybird 1.0, or try Kagi's Orion if you use Mac.
- wanderingpixel 5mo agoMullvad Browser
- idbnstra 5mo agoI use Vivaldi, which is chromium based
- chistev 5mo agoI use Chrome majorly because I like how it feels and I'm used to it. But I wanted to stream football (soccer) and NBA games on my phone and the ad pop ups on the streaming sites were too much, I used Brave and the ad-blocking feature is amazing.

- BrunoBernardino 5mo agoLibreWolf if not on the Apple ecosystem. Safari in that case. Mostly for a mix of privacy and efficiency.
- mkbkn 5mo agoZen browser - based on Firefox
